The Great Demarcation
I am angry.
I feel the time is here where the forces of evil and good are becoming visibly polarized even in the United States...finally. Finally, the media is printing stories and being shown up to the American people what alot of rot comes out of them . People are tired of it. People are tired of being treated like idiots. Unfortunately, many still fall under the lines and influence of the glibtonguing press. Even I still fall under that spell occasionally to try to find something in the world that will support my points of view and my pet point projects. I am generally a woman with a conservative Christian view point in most ways if those of you who didn't know wondered.
So with that I segue into this: What side will you be on when the time comes to choose sides? Will there be a right and a wrong for you or will you be a fence sitter? Are you pulling points from either side of the liberal or conservative media to prove or disprove your points? Why? I have begun to rethink and reassess what a horrible mistake it is to base your opinions and define your critical view point by what the media says are the 'facts'. Only One, God, can give the facts and I should be taking my point from the Word of God. Not Yahoo or Google or CNN or the 700 Club. Granted these sources are fine for research but are you going to form your opinions off them and the hype they generate with 'the next big story'? I think it is shameful the way Michael Schiavo is being glorfied why his WIFE starves to death. Wait a minute isn't he married with kids to some other lady...? Terri Schiavo is by inclination a Roman Catholic. The pope decried the pulling of her feeding tube....did you know the pope was just put on a feeding tube himself?! I truly believe God is showing the world the Great Demarcation through this. I hope I 'm on the right side of it. I'm pretty sure I am, only God knows. So the press, like money, can be a tool both ways. I won't stop reading or watching the news just because the thing is rotten but I will be much more highly selective about what I believe and declare before I say it. This is getting absolutely ridiculous. What do you think?

I also thought the contrast between the Pope and Terri Sciavo was profound. I agree, too, that the media- in all its forms- is twisted, and tailors the stories to fit an agenda. It has been so for our entire lifetime. It has been so since Vietnam. Welcome to the world our parents created.
As for the world we are creating... It is that very mistrust of the media that birthed the blogosphere. Not that I will be holding up the Blog as the source of truth. Far from it. But I do think that it is good for individuals who are not driven by corporations and Nielsen numbers might just have something of value to contribute to this century.
Truth is absolute. Fact can be turned to suit a purpose. Know the difference, and most importantly, know the Source of Truth. God is faithful, and He will lead us through the darkness. Seek Him first.
er... good *that* individuals....
Just as a side note, I remember seeing a definition in one of my economics textbooks that was a real eye-opener for me. I've memorized it to this day:
Fact - A statement that may be either true or false.
A fact is something that can be mathematically adjusted for. You can map a fact on a graph.
Truth, if you were to try to represent it as a number, is a constant. Sure, you COULD graph it, if you like looking at a straight line that never moves or waivers. Facts change. Truth is constant.
